Model Aero Sports Club Of Tropical North Queensland

Welcome to MASCOTNQ

Club members since 1994 have been flying with us and although our location has changed, members still come back for the great atmosphere MASCOTNQ has to offer. With approximately 50 financial members, MASCOTNQ welcomes all to a great day at the field. Members range from juniors through to seniors, with experienced and knowledgeable instructors available for rotary and fixed wing models.

Our facilities continue to grow, and with over 20 hectares of flat land, parking is no issue, there is plenty of room for all members, flying, wrenching or spectating.
Visitors to the field are always welcome, whether you're interested in flying, or just the entertainment of the sport.
If you would like to come and check out the excitement, every Sunday is the club day.

Come for a look and have a chat, or send us an email and experience the great atmosphere of MASCOTNQ and the fun of flying.

About us

In 2005 MASCOTNQ lost their airfield just outside of Emerald Creek to a proposed sawmill development. This left MASCOTNQ with no airfield and a declining membership.

The club flew on private property for a number of years until in 2010 MASCOTNQ was successful with an application to Tablelands Regional Council (TRC), for an allocation of suitable land to use as a flying field. TRC granted MASCOTNQ a permit to occupy a large area of prime flying real estate, as some may call it, and with this new field MASCOTNQ set about developing the flying site and membership with member numbers growing from 6 in 2005 to over 50 in 2014.

The new field has been named "Adil Field" and is registered with the MAAA Model Aeronautical Association of Australia, and CASA Civil Aviation Saftey Authority. Field operating times are from 7am to dusk, 7 days a week with a height limit of 1000 feet (300 metres) agl. The field is for the use of MASCOTNQ members, and visiting MAAA members by appointment. Visiting MAAA members must contact MASCOTNQ regarding access to the field.

Adil Field is located on the northern side of the Mareeba township, past the industrial area and down Adil road on the left, with club day on every Sunday morning. we look forward to seeing you there.
